Our Family's Journey Through Time
Welcome to Copper & Kin Genealogy! I began researching my family history way back in 2005! Over the years my genealogy research has become far more than a hobby. It's grown into a life-long passion, rooted in preservation, discovery and connections. This site is not only home to my own ancestral lines, but also many years of research, records, photographs, cemetery visits, and stories I have gathered along the way. This website serves as a place to share research findings, historical documents, family biographies, photographs, and ongoing projects. It is also dedicated to encouraging careful sourcing, thoughtful analysis, and collaboration within the genealogy community.
My research focuses on the Cornwall, Scotland, Ireland Britain & greater Europe alongside Canada, New England and Metis ancestry in Canada, where I live. I am currently learning about German ancestry. Check out the link below for some fascinating folks!

This site is truly a work of love and dedication in order to tell the story of us and our ancestors. If you have something to add, please let me know. The more we can share with others the more we receive in return. You can also find me on Facebook at Copper and Kin Genealogy. There I post meanderings and neat bits about family history. So whether you are family, a fellow researcher, or simply visiting out of curiosity, WELCOME! I hope you find something interesting within these branches.
We are the chosen. In each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve.
Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So, we do. In finding them, we somehow find ourselves. How many graves have I stood before now and cried? I have lost count. How many times have I told the ancestors, "You have a wonderful family; you would be proud of us.". How many times have I walked up to a grave and felt somehow there was love there for me? I cannot say.
It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who I am, and why I do the things I do.

Thomas Henry Blake
(1875-1912)
My great-uncle, served as a fireman aboard the RMS Titanic on her maiden voyage in April 1912. Born in Cornwall, England, Thomas had settled in Southampton with his wife, Alice, and their three children while working for the White Star Line as a ship’s fireman. He perished in the sinking on April 15, 1912. We reflect on all the lost victims.
We are woven from forgotten days, From names the wind still softly says.
From hands that tilled the ancient ground, And hearts that beat without a sound.
They walked through hardship, fire, and rain, Through joy, through loss, through hope and pain.
And every step they chose to take, Becomes the ground on which we wake.
Their voices linger in our own, In bone, in blood, in flesh, in stone.
And though their stories fade from sight, They live in us, both day and night.
So let us speak their names with care, And keep their memory everywhere.
For we are not just who we are— We are their past, still traveling far.

We document our research to the standard of genealogical proof. Sometimes there are yet facts and stories unknown. If you have something you would like to add, please contact us.
